Hoa Phat Starts New HRC Plant in 2025

Vietnam's largest steel producer, Hoa Phat, has announced plans to complete and start a new hot rolled coil (HRC) steel plant in 2025.

The Dung Quat 2 plant will have a total capacity of 5.6 million tons per year for HRC and a blast furnace with a capacity of 2,500 cubic meters. The company says the total investment for the project will be 85 trillion VND (3.32 billion USD).

The first HRC production line at Dung Quat 2 will be built by the end of 2024. Phase 1 of the project will start operations in the first quarter of 2025. Phase 2 will be completed and start operations by the end of 2025.

The Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 project aims to produce high-quality HRC products for downstream industries, including automobiles, containers, home appliances, and steel structures. Hoa Phat's steel production capacity will reach over 14 million tons per year after the Dung Quat 2 project is fully operational.
