EEC Initiates Anti-Dumping Probe Against HDG from Ukraine and China

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has launched an anti-dumping investigation against hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) steel products imported from Ukraine and China. The investigation is being conducted in response to the upcoming expiration of existing anti-dumping duties on these products.

The current anti-dumping duties on HDG from Ukraine and China range from 12.69% to 17.0% for China and 23.90% for Ukraine. These duties are set to expire in January 2025.

The EEC's investigation will focus on determining whether the resumption of dumping of HDG imports from Ukraine and China is likely to cause damage to the domestic industry of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Armenia.

The products under investigation fall under the Harmonized System (HS) codes 7210 49 00 01, 7210 49 0009, 7210 61 00 00, 7212 30 00 00, 7212 50 61 00, and 7225 92 00 00.

The EEC will collect and analyze information as part of its investigation, including data on import volumes, prices, and costs of production. If the commission finds that dumping is occurring and causing damage to the domestic industry, it may impose new anti-dumping duties on HDG imports from Ukraine and China.
